Professional Development

Summer in the town

It is officially summer in Southern California! Campus is just a bit quieter, the temperatures are becoming warmer, and most importantly, the speed in our office has slowed down. We are also advantage that is taking of downtime to explore Los Angeles and all which our city has to offer our students.

Like in previous summers, we’re using the summer time Restaurant Series, prepared by some of our own peers, to explore the cuisine that is local. Just last month, we ventured to 23^rd St. Café in USC’s yard. This unique restaurant offers American, Indian, and Mexican food, along with some fusion dishes. The Chicken Tikka Masala quesadilla was quite popular in our group! For the 2nd food outing, our restaurant series took us to Umamicatessen. According to the internet site, this location is ‘inspired by worldwide street bazaars and also the classic American delicatessen’ while offering 5 different kitchens serving up diverse types of food within a hall that is dining within the Orpheum Theatre.
